I have to wake up tomorrow morning at 6:30am, put on a suit and wear heels while driving on the freeway in morning traffic. Awesome, isn’t it? I have to present an informative speech to the Strategic Communication Consultants (SCC) department (made up department for speech). I am allowed only one 3×5 index card, so I thought…fuck it. I’ll just memorize my speech really well. I was practicing early today and all I could do was watch my lips move, so I lost focus. Hopefully, I can make eye contact, pace around the room, and give a great, enthusiastic speech. I’m not good at this if you can tell. My face gets flustered and I start to sweat.. haha, oh boy.
I’m in the Planning and Research department conducting research on business trends. I picked this topic because it interests me.. I talk about networking such as using twitter for updates, being environmentally friendly, and donating back by let’s say, volunteering. I have this picture perfect moment in my mind how I’ll be completely excited about the speech, how I’ll walk back and forth throughout the room (..and not trip over my heels), but honestly, I think once I’m in front of everyone, I’ll speed through my speech and call it a day in one minute. LOL, I need to last at the very least 3 1/2 minutes.
After March 8, I’ll be done with my midterm and hopefully have more time for this website. I still never got the chance to put my inspirational quotes up unfortunately. I think about it every time I open up Photoshop because I had to make a visual aid earlier, but I know I shouldn’t be doing that stuff now when I should concentrate on focusing and presenting a good speech. Speeches are never perfect! according to CEO Buck, so.. wish me luck!
